Today I noticed something very interesting during the Aristotle dialogue. I have a really hard time getting my thoughts into order and expressing them correctly. I mean, it’s always been hard for me to express myself, I always get mixed up on words, use examples that are not always clear and probably end un confusing the people who I am trying to make understand. Today in the dialogue, I had these ideas very clear in my head, but when I spoke and gave an example, I don’t think I got my message through, and I don’t think mostly anyone understood me correctly. I don’t really know why this happens, but now I know for sure that it is something I want to improve on.
Out of the
whole day, the activity that I enjoyed the most was talking about documentation
with Bert. We started out by talking about the purpose of documentation and the
skills that we would need to document well. We later separated into groups and
discussed how we would like documentation to be. I really liked the group I was
in today, with Chacho and Diego; I enjoyed it because we started out from the
basics and built up on that. So we restated our purpose, and this is what we
came up with: “Having something that reflects who I am, what I have done and
what I am capable of doing”. I believe that this phrase really sums up what we
are trying to do with our documentation; we are trying to convey our most
important aspects, but at the same time have all of our projects available for
other people to see. Well, we later started listing all of the skills we could
possibly need for a great documentation, for example: writing, vloging,
journaling, editing and organization. We then continued listing more specific
ideas we had which could improve our documenting. I think we came up with some
really great things, that I would like to start applying now, and not only to
the documenting of the MPC but for my daily life too. An idea we had was making
a YouTube channel, in which we could explain things that we are learning at the
MPC in a 3 to 4 minute video. Another one was writing a stream of consciousness
for five minutes a day. We thought that for a couple of books, it would be interesting
to represent each book with a drawing. We also thought that we could make a
comic book, in which we could summarize the week or a day. My favorite ideas
were all of our mini-journals. One mini-journal was a journal of details (or
small events), in which we could write about something small that happened
during our day and impacted us. Another mini-journal was a quote journal, in
which we could mention a quote that we read in class, or during the day or a
comment that one of us said. We also thought of having an amazing and original
thought journal, in this journal we could write down some of those random
thoughts or ideas that we have during the day. At the end of our brainstorming,
each group read their ideas. I was very surprised at how creative my classmates
are; they have so many great ideas, that we should start implementing them
immediately.
